Recently, I learned through the scriptures that I can’t do anything to earn God’s love. God’s love - “is”.
Once I understood that, I realized I had been too hard on myself. Fighting, scraping, hating and punishing my humanity. It’s the root of all of my self-love issues. When I messed up, I hated who I was and I would verbally and emotionally abuse myself internally. I was convicted in my mistakes but I took it too far. There’s nothing I can do to earn more love and acceptance from the Lord.
The Lord wants us to know that we aren’t always going to do everything the right way. I was so busy trying to be perfect I didn’t realize that I am only ever able to be human, making mistakes, God made us intentionally imperfect so that he receives all of the glory and rightfully so.
When you allow yourself to be who God tailor-made you to be, your quality of life shifts. Joy and happiness become the new normal, and you’re able to live a balanced Christian life as who God designed you to be.
Don’t confuse this message for a message of “it’s ok to sin freely.”
That is not what this means at all but know if we sin freely ignoring the scriptures about obedience, holiness and purity we are bound in our flesh. It is a must to die daily to our flesh lest we be consumed by our carnality.
